Although I wish I could be, I am not a big fan of historical fiction. My brain can't seem to put me in a different time or place, so the stories don't seem to grab me like the other genres. Then I read Sweet Clara and the Freedom Quilt.
This book placed my mind into slavery times, when the Underground Railroad was the means of escape to the north. Young Clara finds a unique way of using her new sewing skills. You will enjoy reading how a young girl was able to impact others through her creativity!
